sound sleep

i heard a simple whisper on the wind

as the rain drizzled over fertile fields

i slept through the riotous thunder

and vaulted over ideas inside of my dreams

inside the cocoon of heavy wool blankets

the brilliance of lightening searing darkness

unable to penetrate my overtired mind

as i curled upon myself and into your side

dreamlessly floating on terraced awareness

innocent of motive or quarrelsome confrontations

simply content to be outside of myself

lost in the chasm of silence sleep provides
