growing up

Your voice starts to silence, when you feel the weight of the world at your back. As the orb inevitably turns incrementally, forcing you into new directions, there is a sudden realization that things are no longer as pressing as they used to be. This mellowing, this calmness is the natural progression of maturing into who you are supposed to be. We simply are not used to being so reflective and find the solitude of our own thoughts to be mildly disconcerting, after a youthful lifetime spent in egocentric pursuits.
